In 1959 the New Zealand government decided the purchase two Type 12 frigates to begin replacing the aging WWII loch class frigates. The frigate Hasting, then under construction at John Thornycroft’s yard at Southampton was purchased, modified and renamed Otago.
Three separate volumes, each volume includes crew lists of those years. Each book A5 size with photos throughout.
1960-1970, 448 pages. This volume covers the first ten years.
1970-1976, 416 pages.
1977-1983, 432 pages. This volume covers the last 7 years of her 23 year service.
